When the first scientists began studying animal behavior, they didn't dare speak of friendship. However, as more research on animals was conducted, the scientific community realized that they are not so different from us. Some species also form friendships that can last a lifetime. They enjoy spending time together, they help each other when needed, and they feel sad when something bad happens to their companions. Like us, they care about their friends because they, too, are capable of experiencing emotions.
