As the first Latina to become a U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor is an inspiration to young people everywhere as they strive to achieve their dreams. But what inspired her? For young Sonia, the answer is: books! They were her mirror, her maps, her friends and her teachers. Books helped her to connect with her family in New York and Puerto Rico, to accept and understand her diabetes diagnosis, to cope with the death of her father, to discover the secrets of the world and to dream of a future where anything is possible.

Al ser la primera mujer latina en ser jueza del Tribunal Supremo de Estados Unidos, Sonia Sotomayor es una inspiración para los jóvenes de todas las partes del mundo en la lucha por lograr sus sueños. Pero ¿qué la inspiró a ella? Para la joven Sonia, la respuesta es: ¡los libros! Eran su espejo, sus mapas, sus amigos y sus maestros.
